The M.B.A. Programme is designed to prepare managers for a wide
variety of business and other organizations. The primary aim of the
programme is to provide top quality education to highly motivated bright
young men and women, so that they can provide effective managerial
leadership and professional competence in the organization in which they
will serve. The programme emphasizes the development of critical,
analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities required
for setting standards of excellence in their managerial life.

The All India Council
for Technical Education, New Delhi has sanctioned 60 seats for admission
to the M.B.A. Programme. The students are admitted on the basis of the
reservation policy of the Government of Gujarat in that behalf.

Admission

A candidate who has
passed the Bachelor's degree examination in any faculty of the statutory
and recognized university under 10 + 2 + 3 or 4 (at the first degree level) or an
examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 50 percent of
marks in aggregate, and with English and Mathematics/Statistics/Calculus
as subject in Xth and/or XIIth standards, is eligible to apply for
admission to the programme. Applicants from other universities would in
addition be required to fulfill other admission criteria prescribed by
the North Gujarat University in that behalf.

Selection
Procedure.
|
|
|
|
The admission procedure
comprises of: Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal interview.
Written test is of 2 to 3 hour duration, (depends upon examination
structure) and is exclusively of objective
and multiple choice type. Various sections included in the test are
language proficiency, analytical reasoning, data interpretation,
quantitative problem solving and general knowledge. The written test is
aimed at measuring career aptitude and business awareness of the
applicant.

The group discussion
aims at measuring communication ability, social behaviour, leadership,
persuasiveness etc. of the candidates. Purpose of the interview is to
measure communication and problem solving ability in addition to measure
aptitude.

The entire selection
procedure is now conducted by the Government of Gujarat under a common
examination, Gujarat State Common Entrance Test (GCET).
